Abrass Family Endowed Fellowship
The Abrass Family Endowed Fellowship provides project specific resources for the educational and research activities of Geriatric Medicine Fellows in the 2nd year of research fellowship training. Eligible applicants will be alerted of the opportunity to submit a description of proposed work and budget justification for a pre-determined not to exceed amount of funding (amount will vary year to year). Special Training Courses
The University of Washington Schools of Medicine and Public Health collaborate on developing course content beneficial to research fellows. These include formal course work in biostatistics, clinical epidemiology, study design, and, for laboratory research oriented fellows, molecular and cell biology. These courses are intended to strengthen the knowledge base of fellows as they begin their research careers. Certain fellow appointments are eligible to participate in the tuition exemption program. This benefit does not apply to fellows paid directly by affiliated institutions such as the VA.

VA Fellowship in Advanced Geriatrics
The VA Fellowship in Advanced Geriatrics offers post-specialty research training and education in health care issues of older adults and fosters development of leadership in gerontology and geriatric medicine. The program capitalizes on the international prominence of VA's Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Centers (GRECCs) to provide outstanding training opportunities in research and clinical practice; to contribute to new knowledge and the improvement of clinical practice; and to advance scholarly pursuits that will benefit care for elderly veterans and all older Americans.
